Muah AI is one of the more unconventional NSFW companion platforms in the category, so our team spent time putting it through rigorous testing: chatting with a community-imported character, generating images, testing the voice call interface, and examining how character switching actually behaves. It is currently in beta, which explains some of what we found. Here is an honest account of what it does well, where it falls short, and whether it is worth your time.

What Is Muah AI?

Muah AI is a browser-based AI companion platform built around a single customizable character rather than a browsable library of ready-made profiles. You either import a community-created character card from card.muah.ai or configure your own from scratch, setting appearance through a detailed text prompt, personality, voice type, and relationship dynamic. Chat is fully uncensored with no content toggle required; explicit content begins immediately if the character and scenario call for it. The platform also supports image generation, voice messages, and real-time phone calls on paid tiers. It is in active beta development and carries the rough edges that come with that.

Key Features

Muah AI takes a different approach to almost everything in this category. Rather than a character library you browse and pick from, it centers the experience on one companion you configure and return to. Appearance is set through a written keyword prompt that directly affects photo output. Personality, voice, and scenario are configured separately. Chat is uncensored by default, with no toggle needed anywhere. Image generation runs inside the chat window without leaving the conversation, and it is included in the subscription rather than charged per generation. Community character cards can be imported from card.muah.ai, which holds thousands of profiles spanning realistic and anime styles. Voice messages and real-time phone calls are available on paid tiers, with an NSFW or SFW mode selectable before the call begins. Video generation has a dedicated gallery interface with a 15-per-day allowance.

Chatting and Sexting on Muah AI

We imported Evelyn, a realistic-style community character card from card.muah.ai, with over 145,000 views and 319 likes. The backstory describes a 21-year-old Manhattan art major from a wealthy California family whose finances collapsed after a tax fraud scandal, leaving her financially desperate and submissive beneath a cold exterior. The setup is specific and well-written, and the chat reflected it from the very first message.

Importing the Evelyn character card into Muah AI

She opened with something direct and physical, with no warm-up period and no preamble. The tone was immediately explicit, and her dual nature came through clearly. To test memory, we gave her our name early in the session and asked her to use it. She did, consistently, weaving it into the scene in ways that felt specific to the moment rather than mechanically inserted.

The model preserved Evelyn's established voice throughout a long, graphically explicit session without the personality flattening that often sets in after a few dozen exchanges. Responses were written in a dual-layer format: action and setting in bold, internal monologue in brackets, which gave the conversation a novelistic texture that stands out in this category. The writing quality during explicit sections was notably above what we have seen on most platforms we have reviewed.

Chatting with Evelyn on Muah AI

NSFW content on Muah AI requires no toggle and no unlock. The platform is uncensored by default, and there were no refusals, no redirects, and no moments where the model stalled or softened the content across the entire session. Escalation felt completely seamless.

We then tested memory with a deliberate contradiction: telling Evelyn we were vegetarian earlier in the session, then asking for pepperoni pizza later. She caught it immediately, noted the inconsistency with a hint of confusion under her usual cool composure, and adapted without breaking stride. That kind of contextual tracking across a long session is what separates a well-built character from a chatbot cycling through canned responses.

Character Switching

One of the more significant limitations we encountered was what happens when you import a different character mid-session. We imported Julia Lui, a featured anime-style card with a Tokyo street musician backstory and 25,000 views — a completely different character in every respect. The header updated to show Julia's name and avatar, but the model continued responding as Evelyn.

The East Village setting, Evelyn's appearance, and her established session history all carried over unchanged. The character name changed in the interface; the character the model was operating as did not. Starting a fresh session from scratch is the more dependable approach to getting a clean character reset, but this is a limitation worth knowing before you invest time in a long session.

Muah AI Image Generation

Image generation on Muah AI runs directly inside the chat window and is included in the subscription with no separate token charge. We triggered it mid-conversation by asking Evelyn to send a picture. The first image came back with a noticeable error: an extra limb visible in the composition, giving the impression of a third leg. It was an obvious AI generation artifact and the kind of thing that is jarring mid-session.

The second image request, later in the session, returned a considerably better result. The character's appearance matched the configured prompt closely: tall, slender, long, wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, and the composition was clean. Muah AI accompanies each generated image with a detailed written scene description that contextualizes it within the ongoing conversation, which is a nice touch. The description noted it as a realistic photo at high detail and 8K resolution.

The fact that image generation is included in the subscription rather than being token-gated is a genuine advantage. The inconsistency between generations is the trade-off. The first image was unusable; the second was good. On a platform still in beta, that variance is understandable, but it is worth setting expectations accordingly.

Muah AI Video Generation

Muah AI has a Video Gallery accessible from the chat interface with a daily allowance of 15 generations. The intended workflow is image-first: you generate a photo and then use a Generate Video button on that image to animate it into a short clip. In practice, we could not get this to work. The Video Gallery opened and displayed the counter at 0 of 15 generations used today, but clicking on generated images produced no Generate Video option anywhere on screen.

The feature exists structurally in the interface but was not accessible during our testing session. Given that the platform is in active beta, this is less surprising than it would be on a fully launched product, but it is a gap worth flagging clearly. Video generation is present as an architecture, but not reliably available as a working feature at this stage.

Muah AI Voice Calls

Muah AI offers real-time phone calls with your AI companion, and we confirmed the feature is genuinely built into the interface rather than a marketing item. The call modal opens directly from inside the chat window. Before connecting, you choose between NSFW and SFW mode, with a note that NSFW calls will have slower response times than SFW, and the option to start a live call or request an offline call is clearly presented.

The character's generated image sits alongside the call controls, and the interface confirms that higher-tier VIP subscribers receive extended call length. We accessed the call screen during the Julia session, which was still running Evelyn's persona underneath at that point: a reminder that the character bleed-through issue carries across all features, not just text. The call feature itself is unique in the category.

Create Your Own AI Companion

The companion setup on Muah AI is the most technically demanding we have tested in this category. Appearance is configured through a written text prompt using weighted keyword syntax — specifying ethnicity, hair, eyes, build, expression, and clothing as comma-separated descriptors that directly influence photo output. Personality, voice type, and scenario are set separately. You can also choose between classic and dark UI themes and set a custom background image from the same settings panel.

The setup rewards users who are willing to invest time in getting the prompt right. The lack of a guided interface with clickable options means newcomers will face a steeper learning curve than on platforms with step-by-step builders. Community character cards at card.muah.ai help bridge that gap significantly, though as our character switching test showed, importing a new card mid-session does not reliably reset the underlying model. Starting a fresh session is the more dependable approach.

Muah AI Pricing and Plans

Muah AI runs on a subscription model with three tiers. Image generation is included across paid plans rather than charged per generation, but the signature real-time voice call feature sits on the top ULTRA VIP tier.

PlanMonthlyHighlights
VIP$9.99/moUnlimited chat, image generation, character access, priority responses
UHD VIP$49.99/moExpanded memory, more sophisticated interactions, additional voice generation, alpha features
ULTRA VIP$99.99/moEverything in lower tiers, longest responses, and real-time phone calls

The thing to weigh is where the headline features live. Image generation being bundled into the subscription is a genuine plus and saves the per-image token charges some competitors layer on. But the real-time call feature that most distinguishes Muah AI sits on the ULTRA VIP plan at $99.99/mo, the priciest tier in the category. Annual billing brings each plan down, but for the call feature specifically you are paying a premium, and the beta rough edges we ran into should temper expectations at that price.

Muah AI vs the Alternatives

If visual consistency is your priority, Candy AI holds a character's look across generations far more reliably than Muah's hit-or-miss output. For comparably strong writing with in-chat media that actually works end to end, Secrets AI and DarLink AI are the closest matches we have tested. Muah's edge over all three is the uncensored-by-default writing and the real-time voice call — neither of the others offers a live call feature.

Muah AI FAQ

Is Muah AI free? There is no full free tier. Muah AI runs on a subscription, with VIP starting at $9.99/mo. The platform is built around paid features like image generation, voice messages, and calls, so the practical experience requires a plan.

Is Muah AI uncensored? Yes. The platform is fully uncensored by default with no content toggle. Explicit content begins as soon as the character and scenario call for it, with no unlock step and no refusals in our testing.

Does Muah AI have voice calls? Yes — real-time phone calls are genuinely built into the chat interface, with a choice of NSFW or SFW mode before connecting. NSFW calls are flagged as slower, and extended call length requires a higher VIP tier. The feature lives on the top ULTRA VIP plan.

How much does Muah AI cost? Plans run from VIP at $9.99/mo to UHD VIP at $49.99/mo and ULTRA VIP at $99.99/mo, with annual billing bringing each down. Real-time calls require the ULTRA VIP tier.

Can you build your own character on Muah AI? Yes. Appearance is configured through a weighted text-keyword prompt rather than a guided builder, with personality, voice, and scenario set separately. It is powerful but more technically demanding than the step-by-step builders on some other platforms.

Muah AI Pros

  • Some of the strongest explicit writing we have tested, with a dual-layer narrative format (bold action and setting, bracketed internal monologue) that holds the character's voice across a long session without flattening.
  • Fully uncensored by default — no toggle, no unlock, no refusals or redirects; escalation is completely seamless.
  • Real-time voice calls are genuinely built into the interface with selectable NSFW or SFW mode — unique in the category.
  • Image generation runs inside the chat window and is included in the subscription rather than charged per generation.
  • Strong contextual memory — it used our name naturally throughout and caught a deliberate vegetarian/pepperoni contradiction we planted mid-session.

Muah AI: Things to Know

  • Character bleed-through: importing a new card mid-session updates the header name and avatar but the model keeps responding as the previous character. Start a fresh session for a clean reset.
  • Image generation is inconsistent — the first generation came back with an anatomy artifact (an extra limb); the second was clean and matched the prompt.
  • Video generation exists in the interface (a Video Gallery with a 15-per-day allowance) but the Generate Video option never appeared during testing — not reliably available.
  • The companion setup is the most technically demanding we have tested: appearance is a weighted text-keyword prompt with no guided, clickable builder, so newcomers face a steeper learning curve.
  • The platform is in active beta, and several rough edges follow from that.
  • Real-time phone calls sit on the top ULTRA VIP tier — the priciest plan in the category.

Final Verdict

Muah AI delivers some of the strongest explicit writing we have tested in this category, and the real-time voice call feature is genuinely unique. The uncensored default, the dual-layer narrative format, and the contextual memory across a long session all stand out. The trade-offs are real and worth naming clearly. The character bleed-through issue when switching cards, the inconsistent image generation quality, and the video feature that exists in the interface but did not work in testing are all friction points that sit at odds with a paid subscription. For users who want deep uncensored roleplay with the best writing in the category and a call feature unlike anything else available, Muah AI earns 3.5 out of 5 from our team.
